Pressed flowers

Back in the day, I pressed flowers with my mother that were picked from containers on our tiny balcony. Now that I'm far from the city and surrounded by wildflowers, why not start up again! How can I not being close to fields full of daisies, Queen Anne's lace and chicory; forest floors carpeted with columbine, ladyslippers and trilliums; marshes spotted with marigolds, pussywillows and blue flag irises; and lakes dabbled with fragrant water-lilies, northern arrowheads and flowering-rush. The possibilities are endless!

Pressing wildflowers is a slow process, first of all waiting for the time of year in which they bloom and then taking anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks to dry.  But the wait is worth it! Follow me through the seasons as I create new original pieces for sale. I am also planning on creating prints, since originals through the years will eventually fade. See above a sampling of my latest artworks. Feel free to subscribe to my newsletter below to be the first to receive information about original pieces listed for sale and print releases.
